All-on-4 explained
All-on-4 is a name used for a full arch of teeth supported by four implants. Clinics in this guide also publish All-on-6 prices, and other full arch packages that are not described as four implants. The name on its own does not tell you what is included.
What the 2005 paper describes
A 2005 paper by Paulo Maló, Bo Rangert and Miguel Nobre describes an "All-on-4" immediate-function concept, and it names Nobel Biocare AB, Göteborg, Sweden, in the abstract. The study looked at a fixed prosthesis in a completely edentulous maxilla, supported by four immediately loaded implants. A surgical guide was used to place and tilt the posterior implants, to use available bone and to space the implants for the prosthesis. The prosthesis in that study was an all-acrylic fixed complete arch. Source: Maló P, Rangert B, Nobre M. Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research, 2005. PubMed 16137093. Abstract read 3 November 2026.
That study was retrospective. It included 32 patients and 128 implants, with checks at 6 and 12 months. The abstract says three implants were lost in three patients, and it gives a 1-year cumulative implant survival rate of 97.6% in that group. The authors called the concept viable on that evidence. A figure from one study of 32 people is not a prediction for any one patient, and it is not a rate this website adopts.
Later papers follow people for longer and report complications as well as survival. They are research papers, not a guarantee a clinic can offer you. One open-access example, which describes the concept as two axial front implants and two tilted back implants, is on PubMed Central (PMC12842169). It is a retrospective study from one clinic. Read the methods and how many people were lost to follow-up before you treat a percentage in it as a promise.
What to ask before you compare prices
- How many implants, and in which jaw?
- Is the price per arch, or for both arches?
- Is the first set of teeth a temporary acrylic bridge, and is a later zirconia or other final bridge included?
- Are extractions, grafts, sedation and reviews included?
- Who places the implants, and who makes the teeth?

A lower published price is not evidence of a better or worse result. This page does not rank clinics by how suitable All-on-4 is for you. A dentist who has examined you has to do that.
