How we rank
This page is the public description of the default order on the comparison. It is written in plain language so a clinic and a reader can see why one listing is above another.
Regulation (EU) 2019/1150 asks providers of online intermediation services, and online search engines, to explain the main parameters that determine ranking and the relative importance of those parameters. In Ireland the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission is the competent authority, under S.I. No. 256/2020. Sources: Regulation (EU) 2019/1150, S.I. No. 256/2020, and the CCPC's P2B page. Whether this site is legally inside that regulation is a question for the publisher's adviser. The order below is how the list works in any case.
Default order for a single implant
- Can a comparable total be calculated? A comparable total is a published fee for one implant and one crown, or the sum of a published implant fee and a published crown fee. Listings without one always come after listings with one. This is the first parameter. Nothing else promotes a listing that has no comparable total.
- That total, lowest first. This is the second parameter, and it is the one that orders the priced listings. The control on the page reads "Lowest price" when this order is selected.
- Clinic name, A to Z. If two totals are equal, the name decides. Names are compared in English (Ireland).
No other signal changes the default order. In particular:
- A clinic cannot pay, and does not pay, to be listed or to move up. There is no paid placement and no paid highlight.
- Warranty length, number of locations, photos, and how many of the six information checks are met do not change the default order.
- This site does not sell treatment, so it has no own offer to place above a clinic.
- Badges such as "Lowest price in Dublin" are calculated from the prices. They do not move a card.
- There is no editorial pin and no "best match" label.
If you change the sort
You can choose Highest price, Most published information, or A to Z. The sort control shows the name of the order that is on. "Most published information" counts how many of the six checks are met. That count is not a quality score. Ties still fall back to A to Z.
For full arches, "Lowest price" uses the published full arch starting price where the page states a per-arch price, or describes one arch clearly. A range that does not say whether it is per arch is shown and sorts after the clear prices.
Filters
County, maximum price, free consultation, payment plans and a written warranty remove listings before the sort runs. They do not reorder the listings that remain. A filter only matches a "yes" when the clinic's own page says so. "Not stated" does not pass the filter.
Information for clinics
A clinic with a public price page can ask to be added, corrected or removed by emailing corrections@implantscompared.com. There is no fee. The same six checks and the same sort apply to every clinic. If a public price page cannot be found, the clinic is not given a comparable total. We aim to review a correction within 10 working days. The clinic's own page remains the source. This site does not negotiate a rank.
